‘500 Artists Play Cards’
Munich Artist Playing Cards
Munich Artist Playing Cards is a project by Munich Artists.
Penelope Richardson created number 9 in the Munich Artist Playing Cards pack. The works describe my daily journey around Munich and the places I pass by on m way to work and back.
In a small way it is a visual map. The Munich Artist Playing Cards were designed by artists living in Munich but mostly of international backgrounds who have made Munich their home. Each artist made four cards for a specific number of the deck.
The following Munich Artists were involved with the card deck:
- Alexandra Ritter
- Angela Smets
- Ines Seidel
- Janine Völkner
- Berit Opelt
- Süyümbike Güvenç-Noris
- Penelope Richardson
- Isidora Romani
- Elizabeth Hughes ( artwork and card deck design)
- Angelica Zeller-Michaelson
- Maximilian Lückenhaus
- Brigitte Yoshiko Pruchnow
- Emmy Horstkamp
Elizabeth Hughes initiated the project and was supported by Emmy Horstkamp from Munich Artists to get the project off the ground. The project was successfully funded by a kickstarter campaign.
500 Artists Play Cards
The cards were launched at the event ‘500 Artists Play Cards’ held on October 16, 2016 at the Einstein Kultur. Munich Artists got together for a creative event to share their creative talents (music, dance, singing etc.) and build a big card sculpture.
